Rest of Summer

Hard to believe the last time I was on here was July, and now it's October. The past few months have flown by so I guess it isn't surprising I neglected updating this blog. With the end of my internship, end of summer, visiting family and school starting up again I've just been busy with other things.

So I have a ton of images I've done since my last post, but I'll limit it to the stuff I did the rest of summer and wait to upload some of the stuff I've been doing for school.

The next assignment had me covering a plaque ceremony on our college green. The president made a brief appearance and speech for the gathering crowd. After he spoke he made some rounds while the band played under the elms.

Hard to tell but McDavis is giving his speech in the center of the photo, crowd in the background, band in the foreground. Larger size here.

One of the last assignments I had was to photograph a kiln firing behind Seigfred Hall towards the end of summer. Everyone was great. Extremely friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere.

And finally I went on an excursion to Marietta, OH to photograph a university boat. It was a small houseboat and there was about 30 people max on the boat that day, extremely crowded. There were professors and students and they do a lot of experiments on the river water. It was pretty cool and I got to go through downtown Marietta and had lunch at the Marietta Brewing Company. I'm not going to post most of the work as it's mostly promo work for the College of Engineering and not really portfolio work.

Somewhere in the midst of this I went back home to Columbus and shot a friends wedding. All things considered it went rather smooth, but fast. It was held outside and ended up raining during the reception, but they made it through the ceremony / food just fine.

Well I still have a lot of things to post / update on this blog. Have shot some pretty interesting things for class and for my job at school. There's also a TON of stuff I still need to shoot but only have a couple weeks left in the quarter, but it's all going to be portfolio geared work. I plan on updating sooner rather than later.

Until then, I'll leave with a song by my most listened to artist (according to last.fm) over the past 3 months - The Smiths. This was the first song I heard by them and it was probably from a skate video, but I can't recall which one. (I know Arto Saari skated to Handsome Devil in 'Really Sorry' but that wasn't until a few years later.)
